Fundraisers & Events

It's not easy to provide a quality education in tough economic times. This is where Friends of Weaver and YOU make the most difference at Weaver Elementary. In addition to donating your time and talents, there are many ways you can provide the funding we need to keep our kids on the leading edge of technology.

$100 MIND Pledge - One of the great advantages of attending Weaver is that each child has access to a great learning tool like the MIND program. However, this tool is only available through parents’ generosity. No funding comes from the state or district. We ask every Weaver parent for a donation of $100 per student at the beginning of every school year. This pledge can be a one-time donation or spread over several months. Click here for more info and donation options. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Scrip Gift Cards - Scrip Gift Cards are a painless way to support your school. You buy gift cards for your favorite stores and restaurants and in turn, those businesses give Weaver a percentage of the gift card value. You help by buying the things you would normally buy anyway. Easy! Click here for more information.

eScrip - Do you shop at Vons, Ralphs, etc.? When you register your rewards cards with eScrip, you can support your school every time you shop. Click here for more information on how to enroll. Click here for more information on how to enroll.

Dinner & Auction (Weaver Goes Hollywood) - Weaver Goes Hollywood provides the largest part of our funding for the year. It is an annual event that features both a silent and live auction with hundreds of items donated by a variety of organizations and parents. It's also just a lot of fun! Don't miss out! Click here for more details about our next event.

Fresh & Easy - 2 ways to earn money for Weaver...
 1. Save your Receipts - Shop from Sept. 15 to Dec. 31, 2012. Drop your receipts in the Green Fresh & Easy Box in the office and Weaver earns $1 for every $20 spent.

Family Fun Nights - Enjoy a night out while doing something good for your school. Pei Wei, John’s Incredible Pizza, Jamba Juice, Daphne’s are just a few of the establishments that will give a % of sales to Weaver on select days. Keep an eye out for banners and announcements!

Corporate Matching - Does the company you work for offer a corporate matching program? Ask! Many will match donations to FOW from employed parents. Last year we received matching donations totaling about $6,000 from 3M, Wells Fargo, Northrop Grumman, The Pfizer Foundation, Boeing, BP, Toyota, C.V. Starr & Co., Inc., and Jefferies & Company. Visit your company's Human Resource Department to find out if your company offers a corporate matching program! If your employer sponsors a program, please contact FOW’s Development Director Marci Ferguson at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Employer-Sponsored Programs - In 2011 Friends of Weaver was the recipient of a $2,500 "Toyota Volunteer of the Year" award based upon a nomination by Weaver parent Pei-Pei Kelman. Under the Toyota Get in Gear Volunteer program, Pei-Pei, along with about 20 other employees, became eligible to apply for the award (on behalf of the organization for which they volunteered) based upon their community service hours. If your employer sponsors a similar program, please contact FOW's Development Director This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
